I giornalisti ucraini dell’Ap Mstyslav Chernov, Evgeniy Maloletka, Vasilisa Stepanenko e Lori Hinnant hanno vinto il premio Pulitzer per il servizio pubblico – il più prestigioso di tutti i Pulitzer – per i loro “coraggiosi” reportage da Mariupol, allora sotto assedio russo.
L’Ap ha vinto un Pulitzer pure per la copertura fotografica della guerra, mentre lo staff del New York Times si è aggiudicato il premio “International Reporting” per la sua “risoluta copertura dell’invasione russa dell’Ucraina, compresa un’indagine di otto mesi sulle morti ucraine a Bucha”.
